HydroTrack - Drink Water
Last Updated: February 24, 2026
Jose Antonio Blaya Garcia (“we”, “us”, or “our”) built HydroTrack as a commercial application. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information when you use our app.
Information We Collect
Data You Provide
- Water intake logs — Each entry records the amount (in ml) and the date/time you logged it. This data is stored locally on your device.
- App preferences — Your daily goal, reminder settings, theme colors, and feature preferences are stored locally on your device.
Data Collected Automatically
- Approximate location — If you enable Smart Weather Reminders, we request “When In Use” location permission at kilometer-level accuracy. Your coordinates are stored locally on your device to fetch weather data and are never sent to our servers.
- Weather data — We use Apple WeatherKit to retrieve current temperature, UV index, and humidity for your approximate location. This request is processed by Apple.
- Analytics events — We collect anonymized usage events (e.g., “water added”, “goal reached”, “settings opened”) through TelemetryDeck to understand how the app is used and improve it. TelemetryDeck does not collect IP addresses, device identifiers, or any personally identifiable information. For more details, see TelemetryDeck's privacy policy.
Data Collected by Third Parties
- RevenueCat — We use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases. RevenueCat processes your purchase transactions through Apple's StoreKit framework. We do not have access to your payment information. For more details, see RevenueCat's privacy policy.
- Apple HealthKit — If you opt in, HydroTrack writes your water intake data to Apple Health. We do not read any data from Apple Health. HealthKit data is never transferred to our servers, used for advertising, or shared with third parties.
How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Track and display your daily water intake
- Send local hydration reminders based on your schedule and weather conditions
- Process in-app purchases and verify your subscription status
- Analyze anonymized usage patterns to improve the app experience
- Sync your water intake to Apple Health (if you opt in)
Data Storage and Security
- All personal data is stored locally on your device using iOS encrypted storage (App Sandbox and Keychain).
- Water intake history and preferences are stored in a shared App Group container accessible only by the HydroTrack app and its home screen widget.
- We do not operate any servers that store your personal data.
- We do not have access to your data remotely.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. Data is shared only with the following services, solely for app functionality:
| Service | Data Shared | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Apple WeatherKit | Approximate location | Fetch current weather conditions |
| Apple HealthKit | Water intake amounts | Sync to Apple Health (opt-in only) |
| TelemetryDeck | Anonymized usage events | App analytics |
| RevenueCat | Purchase transactions (via Apple StoreKit) | In-app purchase management |
Your Rights and Choices
- Location: You can revoke location permission at any time in iOS Settings. Smart Weather Reminders will be disabled automatically.
- Notifications: You can disable all notifications in iOS Settings or within the app.
- HealthKit: You can disable HealthKit sync in the app settings or revoke access in iOS Settings > Health.
- Analytics: TelemetryDeck does not track individual users. No opt-out is needed as no personal identifiers are collected.
- Delete your data: You can delete all your water intake history and reset settings from within the app (Settings > Reset All Data). Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.
Children's Privacy
HydroTrack does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app does not require account creation or collect any identifying information.
Background Processing
When Smart Weather Reminders are enabled, HydroTrack may periodically check weather conditions in the background using your last known location (stored locally). This is used solely to schedule timely hydration reminders and does not transmit your location to any external server other than Apple's WeatherKit service.
